Maria Alfaro is a passionate mental health advocate! She has combined her love for behavioral health and leadership and most importantly, her lived experience with mental illness to form what is today: Que Paso Latinx.  She is a first-generation Salvadoran American from Yonkers, New York.  She is a published author and a motivational speaker.  Maria holds a bachelor’s in behavioral sciences and a master’s in organizational leadership.  Maria serves as our executive director. 




Thania Silva

Thania is a passionate poetry writer who has transformed her pain into action. She is a childhood sexual abuse advocate; using her experience to help others. She holds a bachelor's degree in psychology with a concentration in sociology from Stony Brook University. Thania is proud to be a board member of Que Paso Latinx.


Jasabel Ramirez

Jasabel is a Puerto Rican & Mexican American born

and raised in Yonkers, New York. She is the host of the "Becoming a Sunflower" podcast.  Jasabel holds a  bachelors in social work from Mercy College who supports adults with disabilities in her current employment.  Jasabel uses her voice to empower, educate, and heal herself and her community.
